Manifestation, 2017, junk/clutter/stuff, paint
Manifestation utilizes old products destined for the landfill to create a ghostly apparition of consumerism. The assembled form of the products is characterized by growth. Mimicking the forested landscape it occupies, positions the sculpture both as nature and in opposition to nature. The sculpture plays with the conception of value with the ultimate transmutation of trash to art, creating a counter narrative to the typical cycle of production - consumption - waste.
